At Sharon Baptist Church, our Children's Ministry motto is "little disciples, big faith!" Our goal is to help children to know, love, and follow Jesus. We currently have offerings for children ages 3 through 6th Grade. Children's Church is held each Sunday during worship service and provides an opportunity to participate in age-appropriate Bible lessons and activities (crafts and games). On Wednesday evenings we have AWANAs (Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed) which promotes discipleship, scripture memorization, as well as building relationships in a fun and supportive environment.
In addition to our weekly offerings we also host special events throughout the year which include but are not limited to Vacation Bible School, Annual Easter Egg Hunt, Fall Festival, as well as service and outreach opportunities. We invite you to join us!
At Sharon Baptist Church we have an AMAZING and ACTIVE Youth Group! Our youth meet every Wednesday night from 6-8 PM where a full dinner is served. After dinner we have our opening game, announcements, praise and prayer, lesson, and closing game. Our youth consist of students from 6-12th grade and we typically have anywhere from 15 to 25 on Wednesday nights. Outside of Wednesday nights we meet twice a month for an Activity and a Mission!
Our goal is that the Youth form everlasting bonds with one another, while growing their relationship with God through acknowledging and sharing their personal relationship for Jesus Christ! We encourage them to step outside of their home comfort zones so others may see Christ in them, and so they can stand together to defend and protect the word of God!
If you know any Youth 6-12th grade that may be interested in participating please encourage and invite them to join us!
We have a Women's Bible Study on Tuesday mornings at 10am in the Fellowship Hall. We have a time of sharing prayer requests and studying the word. This group usually extends their time with an optional fellowship lunch after their study concludes. All ages are welcome.
In the Fall, we also have a Fall Book Study. This gathering includes a time of fellowship, prayer, and study. This Book Study usually meets in the evening on a week night.
As a church, we pack and send Operation Christmas Child Shoeboxes through Samaritan's Purse. We collect items for the shoeboxes throughout the year and pack them in November. This past year, our Children and Youth packed shoeboxes during their Wednesday night gathering time.
This is a great way to send God's love and the Message of the Gospel across the world - making a global impact for Christ from King William, Virginia!
